Why are people like him getting the reblogs, when TONS OF FUCKING BETTER PIECES BY SPOKEN WORD ARTISTS FROM WOMEN OF COLOR AND RELIGION AREN’T. HMMMM?

Josh Healey identifies as an anti-Zionist Jew and expresses in this piece the ways in which his Jewish identity (with its accompanying oppression and privilege) is connected to so many other struggles (queer liberation, Israel/Palestine, occupation on stolen Indigenous land). He performed this after being un-invited from the J Street national conference for his anti-Zionist politics and writing. He definitely has tons of privilege, but I don’t think he’s taking on an identity other than his own in this piece? He’s using the Holocaust to make a connection between Jewish and queer victims of WWII and talking about his own investment in Israel/Palestine as an anti-Zionist Jew. Yeah, none of these things are actually equal (and nothing ever is), but I don’t think that’s what he means to say? What I got was that all these things are connected, that as someone with a history of oppression, he feels committed to solidarity with all of these connected issues.

Also, I don’t know how big Josh Healey is around the internet, but this has 12 notes/5 reblogs?
